Job description

Early Childhood Teacher (2–4 Years Old) – Astoria, Queens

Full-Time | Direct Hire | Union Position (DC37) | 12-Month Program


United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry, is partnering with a well-established organization dedicated to supporting young children in reaching developmental milestones and building a strong foundation for lifelong learning. They are currently seeking passionate and experienced Early Childhood Teachers to join their team in Woodside, Queens.


This is a direct hire, permanent opportunity within a stable, year-round program, offering union benefits, clear salary progression, and long-term growth. Multiple openings are available, with 5–10 positions at the Woodside location.


Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm (35-hour work week)

Program: Full-year, 12-month program

Union: DC37 (strong benefits + paid holidays)


Salary (Union Pay Scale – Based on Education & Certification):

Teacher I (AA / Study Plan): $41,957

Teacher IA (BA in non-ECE or related field): $44,338

Teacher IB (BA in ECE or related field / NYS eval w/ deficiencies): $46,718

Teacher II (BA + NYS certification, no deficiencies): $54,683

Teacher IIA (BA in ECE + Initial Certification): $70,966

Teacher III (MA in ECE + Professional Certification): $79,777

**$3,000 sign on bonus available
***Additional incentive: MA-certified teachers are eligible for a $300 annual longevity increase for the first 4 years (up to $1,200 total).


Responsibilities for the Early Childhood Teacher:

  • Providing a nurturing, responsive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for children ages 2–4
  • Implementing individualized learning plans, including IEPs and IFSPs, into daily lesson planning
  • Delivering curriculum aligned with early childhood education standards and program guidelines
  • Supporting social, emotional, and cognitive development through structured and play-based learning
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy classroom environment
  • Conducting daily health and wellness checks
  • Communicating effectively with parents, caregivers, and interdisciplinary staff
  • Participating in parent conferences and occasional home visits as needed
  • Collaborating with faculty and support staff to ensuring consistent care and progress tracking


Requirements for the Early Childhood Teacher:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (various levels considered based on union scale, Associate's degree also considered with a study plan)
  • NYS certification preferred or willingness to work toward certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of classroom experience working with young children (ages 2–4 preferred)
  • Experience working with IEPs/IFSPs and diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and support teams
  • Ability to provide professional references
