This position will support underwriting activities for Environmental. Responsibilities will include the following but is not limited to: file set-up, pre-underwriting review, quote set-up, binding, billing, report development and maintenance and policy issuance. Additionally, administrative support requirements including phone management, information management, and other support assistance as requested. Frequent interaction with underwriters, brokers and agents is required.

Candidates should be organized, disciplined insurance support professionals that can work effectively in a dynamic environment and possess the following:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain underwriting account clearance system

  • Perform ratings

  • Issue binders/policies/endorsements on behalf of Environmental underwriting staff

  • Create and maintain underwriting files

  • Collect renewal information and prepare renewal submissions for underwriters

  • Maintain business logs (renewal lists, NB lists etc.) as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Fundamental knowledge of rating procedures

  • Basic understanding of insurance products

  • Experience in the administrative process associated with quoting/binding accounts

  • Experience in the issuance or insurance policies

  • Ability to work alongside the underwriting staff in the preparation of management reports

  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications: Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • College Diploma preferred but not mandatory

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Innate time management capabilities

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize

  • A "self-starter"
