Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensures prescribed levels of cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance are maintained in assigned facilities.
  • Supervises staff by orienting, scheduling and providing performance feedback on an on-going basis.
  • Trains staff in general cleaning and floor care techniques, chemical usage, set up procedures, power equipment operation, and safety.
  • Inspects patient rooms, ancillary support rooms and public areas to ensure high levels of service are being maintained.
  • Administers and monitors compliance to departmental policies and procedures in accordance with municipal, state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records and monitors usage of supplies, chemicals and equipment within area of responsibility.
  • Dispenses and collects keys assigned to Environmental Services staff.
  • Monitors staff adherence to established safety standards.
  • Takes required precautions when working with hazardous materials and power equipment.
  • Maintains required record-keeping. Performs related responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: minimum of 3 years' total experience or two years' experience at Emory Healthcare.
  • Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop and twist.
