POSITION PURPOSE:
Assist with the treatment and disposal of waste and maintain operational areas within and surrounding the stabilization plant and landfill according to federal, state and local regulations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promotes and fosters safety and efficiency in all Hub employees and activity.
Maintains clean work area.
Follows safety regulations and company guidelines.
Physical requirements include have the ability to do repetitive heavy lifting, (75-100 lbs.), pulling, dragging, digging, etc., be able to operate conveyors, crushers, vibrating screens, pumps, air pollution control equipment, off road trucks, and vacuum trucks all while wearing Level C PPE (respirator, coveralls, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hat, safety goggles/glasses).
Unload waste into the stabilization plant or landfill after receiving approval.
Visually inspect waste loads during off-loading for non-conformance to waste acceptance conditions and report non-conformity to the Operation's Supervisor for further direction.
Visually inspect waste container off-loading to ensure the waste is completely removed from the truck. Report any material remaining inside the container to the Operation's Supervisor for their disposition.
Sample incoming containerized loads and treated loads according to the Waste Analysis Plan and submit samples to the laboratory for analysis.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Some environmental services industry experience preferred.
  • Some hazardous waste control experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Driving record that meets company standards and current DMV printout, required.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.
  • Confined Space Entry certification preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
  • Pushing / pulling: frequent daily basis
  • Twisting / turning: frequent daily basis
  • Lift items over head: frequent daily basis
  • Standing: 6-8 hours daily
  • Crouching / stooping: prolonged periods
  • Lifting / carrying: frequent daily up to 50 lbs
  • Work in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Required to wear a variety of personal protection equipment as required including but not limited to Tyvek suits.
  • Required to wear respirators as needed.
  • Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions during any hours during the day or night.
