Locum Tenens Oncology Physician Near Eugene, OR

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Oncologist and/or Hematologist for a locum tenens position near Eugene, OR. This opportunity offers the flexibility of both full-time and part-time positions in a renowned cancer care facility. You will be working in an outpatient setting with a strong focus on providing top-quality care to oncology and hematology patients. The role is ideal for physicians looking to maintain a balanced lifestyle while working in a cutting-edge medical environment.

Position Details:
  • Specialty: Medical Oncology and/or Hematology
  • Location: Near Eugene, OR
  • Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing
  • Shift Type: Day shifts with call requirements
  • Shift Schedule:
    • 8-hour days
    • Call schedule: 1:4, including one weekend per month (primarily handling critical lab calls)
  • Workload: 10-15 patients per day in a free-standing cancer center
Hospital and Practice Setting:
  • Facility Type: Outpatient Cancer Center (no inpatient consults)
  • Infusion Room: 19-chair infusion room with onsite mixing pharmacy
  • Support Staff: Nurse navigation, collegial nurse infusion team, radiation oncology onsite
  • Specialty Services Available:
    • Cardiology
    • Radiology
    • Oncology
    • Emergency care
    • Surgical care (including bariatrics and robotics)
    • Critical care
    • Inpatient psychiatry
    • Wound care with hyperbaric medicine
    • Pediatrics, OB, and home health
  • Clinical Trials: Access to leading-edge clinical trials
  • EMR: Epic
Responsibilities:
  • Provide outpatient oncology and hematology care
  • Collaborate with the infusion team to ensure high-quality treatment
  • Participate in critical lab calls on a 1:4 rotation
  • Participate in clinical trials and collaborate with other specialists in the center
  • Embrace a community-focused healthcare model, working with vulnerable populations
Requirements:
  • Board Certification: Medical Oncology and/or Hematology (Board Eligible within 2 years of fellowship)
  • State License: Active Oregon medical license or willingness to obtain
  • Certifications: BLS required
  • Experience: Radiation oncology experience preferred but not required; new graduates are welcome to apply
