Job Title: Outreach Coordinator (Part-Time Contract)
Location: Merrillville, IN
Duration: Contract through End of 2026 (Possible extensions)
Rate: $25 - $30/hr (W2)
Hours: Flexible (Up to 20/week)
Travel: Required within Indiana territory
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Outreach Coordinator with community engagement and/or marketing experience to support energy assistance outreach initiatives. This role is responsible for coordinating, promoting, and staffing community-based events to distribute Energy Assistance information directly to customers across the Indiana territory.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working independently in the field, and confident representing the organization in community settings.
Key Responsibilities
  • Contact and coordinate with local agencies, community centers, churches, and IN locations to arrange participation in onsite outreach events.
  • Schedule and staff event tables using the company's volunteer portal.
  • Represent the organization at events, directly engaging with customers and distributing Energy Assistance materials.
  • Distribute outreach information via email and social channels as needed.
  • Track, document, and report all outreach activities and event metrics.
  • Participate in team discussions to share ideas and improve outreach strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of contacts, event participation, and follow-up activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Community engagement, outreach, or marketing experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to navigate and utilize social media platforms as needed.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within Indiana.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for community events.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Work Environment
  • Field-based role with travel throughout Indiana.
  • Occasional weekend work required based on event schedules.
