Job description

Garver is seeking an Environmental Specialist to provide assistance with field data collection, preparation of environmental studies, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation for various infrastructure projects across multiple business lines in our established OKC office.
The Environmental Specialist will:
  • Lead field teams on various projects in Oklahoma and potentially surrounding states.
  • Review and apply procedures for compliance with environmental regulations under NEPA.
  • Prepare technical reports, planning studies, and NEPA documents.
  • Prepare regulatory permits and approvals in compliance with environmental laws.

Garver's Planning and Environmental Team is a growing, collaborative group offering our regional clients full-service planning and environmental capabilities. This position will have the opportunity to make a daily impact on Garver's projects by being involved in a variety of project types with diverse clients, working collaboratively with internal project teams, and expanding our services through high-quality work.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to planning or the environmental sciences.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with planning and/or project development under NEPA, particularly with regards to transportation projects.
  • Wetland and Stream delineation certification from an accredited source (40-hour course).
  • Excellent communication skills and able to work on a collaborative team, both internally and externally, in both leadership and support roles.
  • Proficiency in technical writing.

Preferred Skills
  • Established knowledge of State and Federal environmental regulations and guidelines.
  • Availability for occasional overnight travel (generally less than one week).
