General Summary: The Office of Environmental Services is seeking a motivated and dependable Part- Time
Intern/ Environmental Technician to support environmental protection efforts across the Muscogee
Creek) Nation Reservation. This position assists with fieldwork, environmental monitoring, community stewardship initiatives, and administrative support. The selected candidate will gain hands- on experience in water quality, air monitoring, waste management, and environmental project coordination while contributing to shared stewardship and protection of tribal lands and natural resources.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct surface water and groundwater sampling in accordance with established protocols and assist with documentation and chain- of-custody procedures.
Assist with site inspections, environmental assessments, and management
of project locations across the Reservation. Participate in environmental site clean- up efforts, including illegal dump
site remediation and community clean- up events. Support air quality monitoring activities, including equipment setup,
calibration, and data collection.
Assist in solid waste management initiatives, including waste characterization, compliance monitoring, and public outreach.
Support recycling program operations and help promote community recycling awareness and participation.
Maintain accurate field logs, sampling records, and data entry into environmental databases.
Provide clerical and administrative support, including filing, scanning, report preparation, and scheduling assistance.
Assist with environmental education and outreach activities within the
community.

Operate field equipment safely and maintain vehicles and equipment in clean, working condition.
Uphold principles of shared stewardship by protecting, preserving, and promoting responsible management of the Nation' s natural resources.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma required; current enrollment in environmental science,
biology, natural resources, or related field preferred. Interest in environmental protection and tribal natural resource stewardship. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform moderate physical activity. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic computer skills ( Microsoft Office or similar). Valid driver' s license preferred.
Preferred Requirements: Associates degree; 1- 2 years work experience in environmental science, biology, natural resources, or related field.
