Description

The Environmental Superintendent works in partnership with the Environmental Manager to lead and oversee environmental compliance, permit implementation, and environmental management activities across Perpetua Resources' Stibnite, Cascade, and Scott Valley operations. This position serves as the primary onsite environmental compliance subject matter expert, ensuring project activities are executed in accordance with environmental permits, regulatory requirements, and Company standards.

As a field-based leadership role, the Environmental Superintendent provides direction to environmental staff, supports construction and operational teams, and coordinates closely with contractors, regulators, and Company leadership. The position is responsible for promoting environmental stewardship, maintaining compliance across project sites, and ensuring environmental commitments are effectively implemented to support safe and successful project execution.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Environmental Compliance & Permit Management

Lead implementation of environmental permits, permit conditions, and associated management plans across all Project sites.

Provide oversight of environmental compliance programs, including SWPPP, BMP inspections, SPCC, groundwater monitoring, cyanidation, air quality, and waste management requirements.

Translate permit conditions and environmental commitments into practical field controls and ensure consistent application by employees and contractors.

Ensure Company operations comply with applicable federal, state, local, and corporate environmental regulations and requirements.

Monitor environmental performance and identify compliance risks, developing mitigation strategies and corrective actions as necessary.

Leadership & Team Development

Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to environmental staff responsible for day-to-day permit implementation and compliance activities.

Support the Environmental Manager in determining staffing requirements and participating in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning activities.

Ensure employees are properly trained, qualified, and capable of fulfilling assigned responsibilities.

Develop, mentor, coach, and motivate team members while fostering a culture of accountability, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.

Promote collaboration and professional development aligned with Company goals and operational objectives.

Regulatory & Stakeholder Engagement

Represent Perpetua Resources in meetings and interactions with regulatory agencies, legislators, permit authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders as directed.

Develop and maintain productive working relationships with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

Prepare and deliver environmental briefings, presentations, correspondence, and reports for management, regulators, and project stakeholders.

Serve as a primary environmental compliance resource for project leadership, construction teams, and operations personnel.

Environmental Administration & Reporting

Maintain oversight of environmental records, document inventories, permit tracking systems, and administrative compliance requirements.

Consolidate and review environmental reports and program updates from direct reports and submit summaries to the Environmental Manager.

Assist with preparation, management, and monitoring of Environmental Department budgets and resource planning.

Support environmental audits, inspections, investigations, and regulatory reporting obligations as required.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Familiarity with GIS, environmental data management systems, and related environmental technologies.

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, projects, and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Strong understanding of environmental permitting, compliance monitoring, and risk management practices.

Proven ability to identify environmental risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

Demonstrated success building and maintaining productive relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.

Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and employee development skills.

Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining compliance and operational objectives.

Willingness and ability to travel frequently and work in remote project locations.

Required

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Engineering, Geology, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.

Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible environmental compliance experience supporting mining, mineral processing, industrial operations, or large-scale infrastructure projects.

Experience interpreting and implementing environmental permits and regulatory requirements.

Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility.

Experience coordinating with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

Knowledge of environmental risk assessment and compliance management processes.

Proven ability to lead teams and deliver projects safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations.

Valid Idaho driver's license (or ability to obtain) with an acceptable driving record.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred

Experience supporting mining, mineral processing, or metallurgical processing facilities.

Experience implementing environmental permit programs during major construction projects.

Knowledge of water quality, air quality, waste management, and mine-related environmental compliance programs.

Previous experience working in remote-site or rotational work environments.

Site Location & Work Environment

The Environmental Superintendent is a field-based leadership position supporting construction, environmental compliance, and operational activities at the Stibnite Gold Project and associated Company locations.

While administrative work may be performed from Perpetua Resources offices in Boise or Donnelly, Idaho, the majority of work responsibilities are expected to be conducted onsite at the Project. This role requires a visible field presence and frequent interaction with environmental staff, contractors, project personnel, and regulatory representatives.

Work schedules may vary based on project phase, environmental monitoring requirements, construction activities, operational needs, weather conditions, and regulatory obligations. As the Project transitions from development into construction and operations, the Environmental Superintendent will be expected to spend significant time onsite and may be assigned rotational schedules, including an 8-days-on / 6-days-off schedule or other site-based work rotations as determined by business needs.

Travel between Company locations and project sites is required. Transportation for business-related travel will be provided in accordance with Company policies.
