Job description

Laboratory SupervisorPosition Summary:

Join our team as a Laboratory Supervisor, where you'll play a key leadership role in ensuring high-quality, timely, and accurate laboratory testing. Working closely with the Laboratory Manager, you'll help oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, and support staff development. Your expertise in laboratory science will guide technical operations, while your leadership will foster a collaborative and productive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Supervise and coordinate daily activities within the clinical laboratory.

· Ensure timely and precise test results in compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards.

· Assist with staffing, training, and performance evaluations.

· Collaborate across departments to prioritize workflow and maintain quality standards.

· Apply advanced scientific knowledge within your specialty area to support excellence in patient care.

Qualifications:

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related science (biological, chemical, or medical) from an accredited institution, plus completion of a structured clinical program (CAHEA-approved).

· Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a clinical laboratory setting, with at least 1 year in a specific department.

Histology Applicants:

· Bachelor of Science in Histotechnology preferred.

· Completion of an accredited histology program and certification as a Histotechnician required.

Licensure/Certification (One of the Following Required):

· Certification by ASCP-BOC or AMT in clinical laboratory sciences.

· Specialty certification in your laboratory area if not certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.

· Histocompatibility Specialist certification (ACHI).

· Certified Histotechnician or Cytotechnologist by a recognized agency.
