What does an Environmental Laboratory Director do?

An Environmental Laboratory Director oversees the operations of a laboratory that analyzes environmental samples such as water, soil, and air for contaminants and pollutants. They are responsible for ensuring that testing procedures comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, managing laboratory staff, maintaining quality control, and interpreting test results. Additionally, they may be involved in developing testing protocols, budgeting, and liaising with clients or regulatory agencies to ensure accurate and timely reporting of data.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Environmental Laboratory Director?

To thrive as an Environmental Laboratory Director, you need a strong background in environmental science or chemistry, extensive laboratory experience, and relevant advanced degrees (often a master's or Ph.D.).
