What does an environmental business analyst do?

An Environmental Business Analyst evaluates how business operations impact the environment and helps organizations develop strategies to improve sustainability and regulatory compliance. They collect and analyze data related to environmental policies, resource usage, and waste management. Their insights help companies reduce their environmental footprint while also achieving economic goals. They often collaborate with environmental scientists, regulatory agencies, and corporate leaders to implement eco-friendly practices.

Familiarity with tools like Excel, GIS software, and environmental management systems, as well as certifications such as LEED or ISO 14001, are often expected. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills help you effectively convey findings and influence sustainability initiatives. These competencies enable you to bridge environmental objectives with business strategy, driving both compliance and sustainable growth.
