Job description

About the Role:

The Senior Staff Accountant will play a critical role in the accurate and timely preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial data that complies with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This role is essential in supporting the business by ensuring accurate costing information and helping to maintain financial controls. The position will lead cross-functional collaboration with the Finance, Operations, IT, and Audit teams to drive process improvements and support strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate would be eager to develop their accounting skills in a supportive and collaborative environment. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both general and cost accounting within a dynamic and growing company.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead and maintain financial accounting information to ensure completeness and accuracy in multiple areas, including but not limited to
    • Revenue and expense recognition
    • Payroll and benefits accounting
    • Fixed asset ledgers
    • Operating and finance lease
    • Intercompany transaction accounting
    • Inventory costing and management
    • Support of manufacturing operations
    • Accounting associated with joint ventures
    • Public company reporting activities
  • Assist in the month-end closing process, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), as well as participating in internal and external audits.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency, including the utilization of digital tools
  • Lead collaboratively with the accounting team and other departments to ensure financial accuracy and alignment with company goals.
  • Provide leadership and support for special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA or equivalent certificate preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and cost accounting concepts.
