The Supply Chain Planner supports efficient manufacturing or production operations by coordinating production schedules, maintaining accurate inventory records, reconciling material usage and finished goods output, and investigating variances.  This role connects production, warehouse, procurement, quality, and finance teams to ensure materials are available when needed and system records reflect physical inventory.

Required experience/Knowledge:  

  •   Associate degree or bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations management, business, manufacturing, accouting or related field preferred.
  • 2 or more years of experience in production coordination, production planning, inventory control, manufacturing operations, reconciliation, or a related role preferred.
  •   Experience using SAP or MRP systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft excel or google sheets, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and report preparation.
  • Understanding of inventory transactions, bills of materials, production work orders, and reconciliation processes.
  • Strong analytical, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  •  High attention to detail, accountability, and discretion when handling operational and financial data

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  •   Production Planning
  • Create, update, and communicate daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand, inventory targets, capacity, labor availability, and material supply.
  •  Release and monitor production order or work orders in the SAP/MRP system.
  •   Coordinate with production supervisors to track schedule adherence, downtime, changeovers, constraints, and completion status.
  •   Identify potential materials shortages, capacity conflicts, or delays and escalate them with recommended solutions.
  •   Maintain planning parameters such as lead times, safety stock levels, reorder points, bills of materials, and production rates.
  •    Support short- and long-term production reviews and inventory reduction initiatives.     Inventory Control
  •   Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, work in process, packaging, spare parts and finished goods.
  •   Coordinate cycle counts, physical inventories, location audits, and inventory adjustments.
  •  Ensure inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, issues, returns, scrap, and finished goods reporting are completed accurately and promptly.
  •  Monitor inventory levels against min/max targets and communicate replenishment needs to procurement or material teams.
  •  Investigate negative inventory, aged inventory, obsolete materials, damaged goods, and inventory discrepancies.   Help maintain organized warehouse locations, material labeling, lot traceability, and FIFO (first in first out) practices where applicable.
  •  Reconciliation and Variance Analysis
  • Reconcile planned versus actual material consumption, yields, labor, scrap, production output, and inventory movements.
  • Review production order closeouts to verify that components, quantities, by products, scrap, and finished goods are accurately reported. Investigate variances between physical inventory, SAP records, bills of materials, purchase receipts, and production reports.
  •    Prepare documentation for inventory adjustments and obtain required approvals in accordance with company controls.
  •    Partner with finance, quality, warehouse, and production teams to resolve recurring root causes of inventory or yield variances.
  •    Produce recurring reconciliation reports and communicate significant risks, trends, and corrective actions.
  •  Purchase order Management.
  •   Receive, review, and enter customer purchase orders in the SAP system.
  •  Verify order accuracy, pricing, delivery requirements, and product availability.
  • Coordinate with customer service, sales, and production teams to prioritize and fulfill customer orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer orders and scheduling commitments.
  •  Communication, Coordination and Team leadership
  • Act as the primary point of contact between warehouse associates, clerical staff, and management.
  • Communicate priorities, changes, and performance expectations clearly.
  • Escalate issues related to labor, equipment, safety, or service levels promptly.
  •  Conduct daily meetings and communicate expectations.
  • Reporting & Administration
  • Prepare and maintain reports related to production schedules, inventory levels, inventory accuracy, and customer service metrics.
  •  Track key performances indicators (KPIs) including schedule attainment, inventory accuracy, inventory turns, and on- time deliveries.  
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory control, production planning, and supply chain efficiency.
  • Support audits, compliance checks, and customer inquiries.
