This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and have a valid Federal Work Study (FWS) award.
Student worker must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate (minimum of 12 credits) student during the current semester and throughout applicant's term.
Be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University with no repeated violations of University Code of Student Conduct.
Job Description:
The College of Pharmacy Information Technology department is seeking a motivated, entry-level Federal Work-Study Student Assistant. While a passion for technology is essential, extensive technical expertise is not required-we will teach you what you need to know. As part of our professional IT team, you will gain hands-on experience and valuable industry skills while supporting the College's digital infrastructure.
This position is in-person and is not eligible for remote work.
• Computer Technical support for staff, faculty, and lab users within the College of Pharmacy located at the Academic Health Center. Assist the support manager in providing maintenance and support for desktops, laptops, lab equipment, printers, and various mobile devices.
• Provides 1 level support for Pharmacy students including, but not limited to, WIFI connection troubleshooting.
• Tasked with rebuilding desktops and laptops based on the operating system needed for the designed role of the device. Handles repairs for computers, both within and outside of a warranty period. Works with 3 party vendors (i.e. Dell) on any warranty repairs/replacements.
• Provide 1 level Cisco IP Phone support for all faculty and Staff. Communicates with UFHealth IT (Telecommunication Team) with any troubleshooting, updates, or changes needed for Cisco IP Phones.
• In a supporting role of the Pharmacy IT Support Manager, assist with providing advice and recommendations to Faculty and Staff with IT purchases for immediate needs or future projects. Works with vendor representatives in obtaining quotes for IT related equipment (Dell, GovConnection, etc.). Coordinates with Fiscal Team for purchasing, follow-up and receiving.
• Maintain inventory of all Computer Related equipment as well as AV systems. Includes any laptops, wireless presenters, projectors, etc. requested for temporary checkout.
• Create detailed documentation for various IT and AV related tasks for both end users and IT Support (Examples: software installments, Zoom, VPN connection, drive mappings, etc.).
No computer experience necessary.
This position may require a candidate to lift computer and/or AV equipment, as well as travel to various office and conference room locations on campus for in-person support to meet customer needs.
Expected Salary:
$15.00/hr
