Who are we looking for a Lab Gross Assistant?
The ideal Lab Gross Assistant candidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, highly dependable, organized, and can multi-task. The Lab Gross Assistant is responsible for preparing and grossing specimens for further analysis, which is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Lab Gross Assistant Primary Duties:
  • Receive and log specimens into the laboratory information system.
  • Will work closely with pathologists and laboratory technicians to maintain high standards of quality and safety in specimen handling
  • Prepare specimens for gross examination by following established protocols.
  • Assist pathologists in the grossing process, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Participate in quality control measures and assist in the training of new staff.
Lab Gross Assistant Skills and Qualities:
  • Able to adhere to lab protocol and standards
  • Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider's instructions, and know when to seek information or advice
