Classification Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of laboratory or healthcare-related experience.
Job Description:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Participate in animal care and handling, including acclimation to testing and training environments and postoperative care and monitoring.
  • Conduct daily rehabilitation interventions (e.g., treadmill exercise, diaphragm pacing and gas exposures).
  • Conduct behavioral assessments, (e.g., whole body plethysmography) and extract data.
  • Participate in electrophysiological assessments (e.g., acute and chronic EMG recordings) and extract data.
  • Participate in tissue processing, including sectioning, immunohistochemistry, imaging and quantification.
  • Assist laboratory staff with organization and maintenance of data files.
  • Assist with implementation of all IACUC, EH&S and biosafety protocols.
  • Work closely with Principal Investigator and laboratory graduate students and post-docs to ensure successful completion of ongoing laboratory projects.
  • Participate in general laboratory care and maintenance including preparing solutions and reagents for experiments, cleaning and basic equipment maintenance.
  • Perform data collection and analysis, prepare research updates, reports, and attending weekly lab meetings.

Expected Salary:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience.
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of laboratory or healthcare-related experience.
Preferred:
Experience with handling rodents, electrophysiology, or immunohistochemistry are preferred, but not required. Proficiency in using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Willing to work flexible hours as needed.
