Job description

This position is in-office 5 days a week. 

The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to learn civil litigation from the ground up and join our Paralegal Service Center. The Paralegal Service Center in Milwaukee supports a wide variety of practice areas in all of our 46 office locations.  Recent graduates and those enrolled in a paralegal or legal studies program are encouraged to apply for this full-time position. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare summary of deposition transcripts
  • Assemble chronologies of pertinent facts and key documents, including medical records
  • Prepare records, review and prepare exhibits, analyze medical records, trial preparation
  • Contact outside sources (government agencies, etc.) to obtain public information and review and analyze the same
  • Search and retrieve information from court-related databases as well as other online sources of case information
  • Review, analyze and organize document productions by opposing parties and co-defendants
  • Assist in document productions
  • Draft subpoenas, notices of deposition and pattern discovery requests
  • Conduct investigative research on opposing parties and expert witnesses
  • Manage documents and organize case files

Qualifications

  • Must have an associate's degree from an ABA Approved Paralegal Studies Program or a bachelor's degree
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and document management system
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical
  • Clear and effective communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Must be able to multitask and successfully manage a variety of demands daily
  • Must be able to work independently and be proactive
