Entry level positions are ideal for recent graduates or those looking to change careers, as they offer opportunities to learn foundational skills, gain experience, and build a career path within a company or industry.

What are entry-level jobs?

Entry-level jobs are positions that do not require any previous experience in the role. Most entry-level jobs are aimed at high school or college graduates as a starting point for a future career goal. A college student may have majored in their ideal career field, but will still need to start in an entry-level position to train in a real-world environment. Some students move from internships into entry-level jobs, but most entry-level jobs do not expect a candidate to have any prior employment or on-site training.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level professional, and why are they important?

To thrive in an Entry Level position, you generally need a relevant educational background, basic industry knowledge, and a willingness to learn. Familiarity with common office software like Microsoft Office or Google Workspace and any role-specific tools is often expected. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities help you stand out and adapt quickly. These skills ensure you can contribute effectively, grow professionally, and take on increasing responsibilities within the organization.

What types of training and mentorship can I expect in an entry-level position?

In an entry-level role, employers typically offer structured onboarding programs, job shadowing opportunities, and access to experienced colleagues for ongoing support. Many companies assign a mentor or buddy to help new hires acclimate to the work environment and company culture. You can also expect periodic check-ins with your supervisor to discuss progress and address any challenges, along with opportunities to participate in workshops or training sessions to build foundational skills relevant to your department.

Start a Remote Sales Career Helping Clients Make Informed Decisions

AO Globe Life is seeking motivated individuals to join our remote team as Entry Level Benefits Sales Representatives.

This opportunity is designed for candidates who enjoy working with people, communicate well, and want to develop professional sales skills in a structured environment. Rather than spending the day searching for strangers to contact, representatives work with clients who have already expressed interest and are scheduled for a conversation.

The position combines client service, communication, organization, and sales. New representatives receive training on the products, systems, and processes needed to work effectively with clients.

No previous insurance experience is required.

What the Day-to-Day Looks Like

The candidate will:

  • Conduct scheduled conversations with prospective clients by phone or video
  • Learn about each client's situation, questions, and priorities
  • Present relevant benefit and insurance options in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Answer questions and provide accurate information about available products
  • Guide clients through the appropriate application and enrollment process
  • Document conversations, applications, and follow-up activities
  • Reconnect with clients when additional information or clarification is needed
  • Maintain an organized schedule and manage assigned appointments
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and coaching activities
  • Use company-approved online systems and communication platforms
  • Develop sales, presentation, and client relationship skills over time

A Remote Role Without Traditional Field Prospecting

This position is conducted remotely and is centered around scheduled client interactions.

The candidate will not be expected to:

  • Knock on doors or conduct door-to-door sales
  • Travel from home to home to meet prospects
  • Maintain a physical sales territory
  • Conduct street prospecting
  • Make routine in-person visits with clients

A dependable internet connection, computer, and suitable remote workspace are required.

Who May Thrive in This Position?

A specific sales background is not necessary. Candidates may bring experience from a variety of professional settings, including:

  • Customer service
  • Retail
  • Hospitality
  • Administrative support
  • Call center environments
  • Education
  • Sales and account support
  • Client-facing positions

The strongest candidates are comfortable having professional conversations, learning new information, staying accountable to a schedule, and applying feedback from training and coaching.

What We Look For

Successful candidates should be able to:

  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Build rapport during phone and virtual conversations
  • Listen carefully and identify client needs
  • Stay organized while handling scheduled appointments
  • Work independently in a remote setting
  • Learn new software and digital platforms
  • Accept coaching and make adjustments when needed
  • Maintain consistent follow-through
  • Work toward individual and team performance goals

Compensation & Professional Benefits

  • Full-time remote position
  • Commission-based compensation
  • Weekly pay
  • Uncapped earning potential
  • Health benefit options
  • Initial training and onboarding
  • Ongoing coaching and professional development
  • Scheduled client appointments
  • Recognition and incentive opportunities
  • Potential advancement into leadership and management
  • No door-to-door sales
  • No routine in-person client appointments

Training & Development

Candidates do not need to enter the role as insurance experts.

The training process covers the products, client communication approach, technology, and procedures used in the position. Representatives also have access to continued coaching and team support as they build experience.

Important Location Requirement

Applicants must currently have a residential address in one of the following eligible locations:

United States:
Virginia, Illinois, California, or Washington

Canada:
Any Canadian province or territory

This is a 100% remote position, but applicants must reside in an eligible location listed above. Candidates residing outside these areas will not be considered for this opening.
