What is an entry level job?

Entry level jobs are positions designed for individuals who are new to the workforce or a particular industry. These roles typically require little to no prior professional experience and often provide on-the-job training. Entry level positions are ideal for recent graduates or those looking to change careers, as they offer opportunities to learn foundational skills, gain experience, and build a career path within a company or industry.

What are entry-level jobs?

Entry-level jobs are positions that do not require any previous experience in the role. Most entry-level jobs are aimed at high school or college graduates as a starting point for a future career goal. A college student may have majored in their ideal career field, but will still need to start in an entry-level position to train in a real-world environment. Some students move from internships into entry-level jobs, but most entry-level jobs do not expect a candidate to have any prior employment or on-site training.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level professional, and why are they important?

To thrive in an Entry Level position, you generally need a relevant educational background, basic industry knowledge, and a willingness to learn. Familiarity with common office software like Microsoft Office or Google Workspace and any role-specific tools is often expected. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities help you stand out and adapt quickly. These skills ensure you can contribute effectively, grow professionally, and take on increasing responsibilities within the organization.

What types of training and mentorship can I expect in an entry-level position?

In an entry-level role, employers typically offer structured onboarding programs, job shadowing opportunities, and access to experienced colleagues for ongoing support. Many companies assign a mentor or buddy to help new hires acclimate to the work environment and company culture. You can also expect periodic check-ins with your supervisor to discuss progress and address any challenges, along with opportunities to participate in workshops or training sessions to build foundational skills relevant to your department.

Job description

Entry Level Sales Associate — Work From Home

AO Globe Life | Remote | Full-Time | Training Provided

Build a Career From Home, Without Needing Years of Experience

Not every successful sales professional started in sales.

Some came from customer service. Some worked in retail, hospitality, administration, education, or completely different industries. Others simply reached a point where they wanted an opportunity with more flexibility and room to grow.

AO Globe Life is looking for Entry Level Sales Associates who are comfortable speaking with people, willing to learn, and motivated to develop professionally.

This is a remote client-facing position where training and ongoing guidance are provided. The role focuses on connecting with individuals who have requested information about life insurance and supplemental benefits, learning what matters to them, and helping them understand the options available.

What You'll Be Doing

The work centers around communication, follow-through, and helping clients navigate their available options.

Responsibilities include:

  • Connect with clients through phone and virtual appointments
  • Ask questions to understand each client's situation and priorities
  • Present information about available life insurance and supplemental benefit products
  • Explain product features and options in a clear, easy-to-understand manner
  • Respond to client questions and provide appropriate information
  • Maintain consistent communication with assigned clients
  • Complete follow-up conversations and scheduled appointments
  • Document client interactions and keep records organized
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and coaching
  • Continue developing product knowledge and communication skills

This isn't about pressuring someone into making a decision.

The focus is on listening carefully, providing accurate information, and helping clients understand their choices.

Who Could Be a Good Fit?

The right candidate doesn't need a long sales résumé.

This opportunity may be a strong fit for someone who is:

  • Comfortable having conversations with different types of people
  • Dependable and able to manage responsibilities independently
  • Open to feedback and willing to apply coaching
  • Organized enough to manage appointments and follow-ups
  • Motivated by goals and personal achievement
  • Professional when communicating by phone or video
  • Interested in developing long-term sales and leadership skills

Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, recruiting, education, administration, call centers, or sales can be helpful, but it isn't required.

Training is provided for candidates who are new to the industry.

What Comes With the Opportunity

Selected representatives receive access to:

  • 100% remote work
  • Full-time opportunity
  • New representative training
  • Ongoing coaching and mentorship
  • Client opportunities provided by the organization
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Weekly pay
  • Commission-based compensation
  • Uncapped earning potential
  • Health benefit options
  • Recognition and incentive programs
  • Advancement opportunities
  • Leadership development

Why This Role Is Different

Working from home doesn't mean working without support.

Representatives have access to training, coaching, team meetings, and resources designed to help them become more confident in the role.

For someone who is willing to learn and consistently put in the work, the position can provide an opportunity to develop skills in communication, client relations, sales, and leadership.

About AO Globe Life

AO Globe Life is part of Globe Life and provides life insurance and supplemental benefit solutions to individuals and families.

Our remote representatives work directly with clients while developing their professional skills through structured training, coaching, and ongoing support.

Ready for a Different Kind of Opportunity?

If the idea of working remotely, developing valuable professional skills, and building your income through performance sounds appealing, this could be a good next step.
