The Cable Harness Assembler position is responsible for assembling, testing, and installing harnesses, and related components in an aerospace manufacturing environment. This role requires precision, attention to detail, adherence to engineering specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and install electrical components, wiring, and harnesses according to engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Using manual & powered tools to perform delicate tasks such as stripping, crimping, soldering, and connector assembly.
  • Conduct testing such as electrical continuity and HI POT testing on cable harness assemblies to ensure quality and compliance to requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering documentation, including drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Inspect, verify, and document each step of the assembly process of components and finished products. To ensure quality standards are in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Help improve manufacturing process by communicating problems or concerns.
  • Confirm all appropriate materials needed to complete a job, according to the Bill of Materials, are with the work order (i.e.: wire, hardware, and miscellaneous components) as well as printing out labels for each work order.
  • Utilize Lean & Continuous Improvement techniques to drive quality & productivity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in electrical assembly or related field preferred.
  • 2 Years Experience with wire harness assembly, and able to read wire harness installation drawings/wiring diagrams/work instructions.
  • Experience with IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC J-STD-001 desired.
