Central is growing and seeking an eager individual with a strong work ethic and a desire to advance in the sheet metal trade. This entry level position is a paid training opportunity for individuals who want to build a career and transition into our Sheet Metal Pre-Apprenticeship program.

As a Sheet Metal Laborer, you will learn the foundational elements of:

  • Planning, layout, fabrication, and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning ductwork
  • Using technical and mathematical skills in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Supporting sheet metal journeymen and apprentices with daily installation and fabrication tasks
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints with guidance
  • Safe use of tools, equipment, and materials
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe jobsite

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to walk, climb, lift, and carry materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds, and perform physical labor

  • Frequent standing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling

  • Frequent overhead work

  • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding for extended periods

  • Visual and auditory acuity required for active construction environments
