Job Description: FGS, LLC is seeking a Network Engineer to support the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) in Suitland, Maryland. The successful candidate will provide onsite engineering support for a globally deployed network infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and mission-ready connectivity across enterprise and remote operational environments. This position supports critical intelligence systems, enterprise applications, cybersecurity initiatives, and mission communications infrastructure.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform installation, upgrades, and baseline configuration of network infrastructure, servers, and appliances
  • Administer and troubleshoot LAN/WAN environments supporting globally distributed users and mission systems
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Cisco Firepower security appliances and related network security platforms
  • Conduct network and system fault isolation across multiple secure enclaves and enterprise environments
  • Execute tactical troubleshooting and hardware replacement for client devices, VOIP, VTC, and desktop systems
  • Respond to Help Desk tickets and ensure timely resolution of escalated network issues
  • Maintain inventory and manage critical response equipment and network spares
  • Support regional or remote deployments as required
  • Analyze network requirements and provide engineering recommendations to improve performance, resilience, and security

Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or IAM Level I Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field (or additional 3 years relevant experience in lieu of degree)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the following:
    • Enterprise network engineering and systems administration
    • Cisco Firepower administration and troubleshooting
    • Secure network architectures supporting global operations
    • Systems integration and lifecycle support
    • Configuration management and documentation
    • Network security best practices and hardening
    • Deployment and sustainment of COTS/GOTS applications in classified environments

Desired Qualification:
  • Experience supporting the Office of Naval Intelligence or other DoD / IC customers
  • Experience with secure enclaves such as NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, or CAP/SCI networks
  • Experience with SolarWinds Network monitoring
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CNNA) or higher level Enterprise certificate. 

Education Requirements: 
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or engineering discipline; Computer science or IT discipline.
From the ICS contract: Of the minimum of three (3) years of required experience, at least one (1) year of experience with DoD/IC network design, administration, operations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
