JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Training & Employee Development Director, the Training & Development Specialist designs, implements and evaluates strategic learning programs while directly facilitating training sessions to staff. This role combines instructional design and classroom leadership to bridge skill gaps, foster employee growth, and drive organizational performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Program Design: Creates comprehensive curriculum, e-learning modules and development paths that align with staff needs and Agency initiatives.
  2. Training Facilitation: Delivers engaging instructor-led and virtual training sessions to staff at all organizational levels.
  3. Training Resources: Develops and provides supervisors and managers with training tools and resources to reinforce learning and support skill application.
  4. Gap Analysis: Identifies organizational skills gaps through training evaluations, feedback surveys and learner performance data.
  5. ROI Evaluation: Measures training effectiveness using data analytics and continuous feedback loops.
  6. Strategic Planning: Collaborates with Training & Employee Development Director to align training initiatives with overarching company goals and business objectives.
  7. Vendor Management: Sources and manages external training providers, consultants, and educational platforms.
  8. Completes other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  2. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in instructional design, talent management, or hands-on-training facilitation in a behavioral health setting.
  3. Exceptional public speaking, presentation, and classroom management skills.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

POSITION/SITE REQUIREMENTS
  1. Must possess a valid California driver's license, personal automobile insurance and driving record that meets the standards outlined in the Agency's Policy: Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
  2. Must be physically and mentally fit in accordance with the Agency's Policy: Physical Fitness Standards and Examinations. Must be willing to complete a Tuberculosis (TB) test and drug screening test.
  3. Must be willing to complete a personal background investigation conducted by the State of California.
  4. Must be willing to work within a culturally integrated workplace and be willing to respect human differences based upon protected classes as defined by state, federal and local laws, or any other condition that distinguishes people from one another.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Have an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in an office or outdoor environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), alternating between standing and sitting for extended periods of time, bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching balancing and occasional carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently.
  2. Physically able to walk up and down stairs routinely.
  3. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in a vehicle (may be up to 100 miles driving distance).
  4. Requires the ability to utilize computer and telephone systems, which includes the coordination of eye and hand and fine manipulation by the hands and fingers for typing, writing and working with files.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Master's degree in the field of Education, Social Services or related field.
  2. Certifications: Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD)
  3. Proficiency with LMS platforms and e-learning authoring tools.

SALARY
  • If you have a BA Degree, the pay range will be: $73,819 - $98,426 annually
  • If you have a MA Degree, the pay range will be: $78,728 - $108,264 annually
  • If you have a LCSW or LMFT, the pay range will be: $86,590 - $119,090 annually
  • This position will not be eligible for a language Variable Pay.
