Full - Time Monday 6am -1pm  Tuesday 11am-7pm Wednesday 12pm-8pm Thursday 11am-8pm Friday 6am-1pm

 Job Summary:

The Fitness Ambassador is an entry-level trainer who provides a dynamic and engaging presence within the club, responsible for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members. This role blends customer service excellence with active fitness floor interaction to enhance the overall member experience. Demonstrates genuine enthusiasm for fitness and member well-being, proactively connects with individuals during their workouts, and fosters a supportive atmosphere through encouragement and guidance. Key responsibilities include greeting members with energy and professionalism, assisting with inquiries, promoting club programs, and maintaining a clean and safe workout space. This position is well-suited for individuals who thrive on building relationships, motivating others, and contributing to a positive club culture.

Essential Job Functions:Fitness Floor Engagement
  • Facilitates PE@PF fitness programs and assists members with fitness programs through the Planet Fitness App.
  • Provide orientation and guidance to new members on basic workout routines and equipment use.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of cardio, strength, and functional training equipment (training provided).
  • Assist members with proper equipment use and safe techniques.
  • Support member retention by building rapport and encouraging positive workout experiences.
Member Experience & Customer Service
  • Greet all members with enthusiasm, professionalism, and courtesy.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment aligned with the club’s 'Judgement Free Zone' philosophy.
  • Engage with members on the fitness floor to provide encouragement and support.
  • Promote club programs, personal training services, and special events.
  • Assist with member check-ins, club tours, info calls, account inquiries, and membership updates.
Cleanliness & Safety
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of equipment, locker rooms, and high-touch areas.
  • Conduct light maintenance checks (changing pads, screws/nuts/bolts, lubing rods, etc.) and promptly report any issues.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and visually appealing club environment.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or fitness preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
  • Passion for fitness and helping others; willingness to learn basic training techniques (certification not required but encouraged).
  • Must complete fitness training certification (NCSF) and manufacturer specific equipment training within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be able to perform and demonstrate a wide range of exercises, including strength, cardio, and flexibility movements.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (often 4–8 hours per shift) while engaging with members on the fitness floor.
  • Capability to lift, move, and safely adjust fitness equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
