Job description

Summary: The Low Voltage Data Technician is responsible for managing low voltage systems, including alarm systems, telecommunications, audio/visual setups, access control, and automation devices. Their duties involve reading blueprints, installing wiring and equipment, troubleshooting system issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM, 2 Saturday(s) a month from 08:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Compensation: This hourly, non-exempt position pays from $22 to $25 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires usually earn between $55,000 and $71,800 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Installing, servicing and integrating a variety of low voltage systems to include Intrusion Alarms, Video Surveillance, Card Access, Telephone Systems, Data Networks and more.
  • Ability to answer basic customer inquiries after trained by MSI.
  • Ability to travel domestically to other MSI locations with expenses paid by the company.
  • Manage updates to MSI systems.
  • Perform additional duties as required or requested.

Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
  • One (1) plus year of Low Voltage Data Technician experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to use a computer or tablet is a plus.
  • Good communication skills required.
  • Good organizational skills required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be available to travel to any state as needed.
