About Thunder Road:

Join our dynamic roadwork company as an entry level equipment maintenance tech and be at the forefront of maintaining and repairing specialty construction equipment. We will provide on the job training, shadowing of our current maintenance team, and opportunity for growth.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your technical expertise in a learning, team-oriented environment.

Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of road maintenance machinery and light vehicles such as medium duty trucks, tar kettles, trailers, compressors. Includes light maintenance of small equipment such as weed-wackers, blowers and small engines.
  • Use diagnostic tools including Ohmmeters to identify electrical issues accurately and efficiently
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems swiftly to minimize downtime and ensure safety standards are met
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks following established schedules to extend equipment lifespan
  • Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and inspection reports for all equipment serviced
  • Assist with on-site setup and breakdown of machinery during road construction projects
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize repairs and ensure all work complies with safety regulations
  • General peak season work hours on site will be 6:30am to 3:30pm with additional hours available. Must be available by phone if crews are out working.

Experience

  • Prior experience working as a service technician or light mechanic in construction or roadwork environments is preferred but not mandatory; we value motivated learners eager to develop their skills
  • Ability to research technical manuals,
  • and repair guides clearly and accurately
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude toward maintenance challenges
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards

Requirements:

Must have valid driver's license, good driving record and reliable transportation to work

Pre employment drug screen required.
