Job Summary:

Technical Program Manager (TPM) position provides internal technical support for OEM engine and GSE programs by supporting customers, sales, sourcing, quality and other internal departments as needed.  The TPM plays a key role in the team’s consultative technical support approach for customers by assessing the customer’s maintenance capability, current tooling inventory, availability for re-purposing / re-use, local maintenance practices, shop load forecast and desired maintenance to prepare a detailed tool list recommendation to meet the customers Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and tooling needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain general and customized work scope specific GSE tooling lists for assigned engine programs according to customer requirements using the RH Aero PROST database system and the TPM’s experience.
  • Own and utilize PROST to config check and approve tools that have changed p/n, workscope and/or function to maintain operational config check and tool list readiness using engine/airframe manuals, CRTL’s, OEM Scorecards, CIDs, Drawings, etc.
  • Conduct Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) design change reviews versus open orders and as applicable versus shipped orders and provide relevant technical disposition to/for the customer.
  • Be the tooling focal interface within various OEM Support Equipment Design and Engineering (SEE) organizations for the assigned engine programs.
  • Resolve supplier and customer GSE and tooling technical related questions on blueprints and specifications by technical interpretation.
  • Internal technical support activities will be related to tool usage, engine application, operation, maintenance and storage of tools in alignment with the OEM databases and supporting Engine Manuals and other technical documents.
  • When opportunities/conflicts are discovered, effectively communicate and resolve with applicable OEM organizations and other relevant team members.
  • Support Sales, Services and Quality activities as necessary to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Own, support and lead the OEM process for GE Supplier Problem Report (SPR) and CFM Customer Problem Report (CPR) submissions and timely resolutions through the RHA Automated Tool Query Report (TQR) system.
  • Provide support for EU CE and UK CA certification activities, along with RHA’s Cost Automation Weight & Dimensions (W&D) processes.
  • Travel up to 10% annually to support customer and OEM initiatives, including activities related to GSE and tooling support.
  • Support other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:

  • Be able to demonstrate an in-depth working knowledge or equivalent experience of GSE and tooling for GE/CFM and/or RR Large, Medium and Small Turbine Engines, Architecture, Systems, Components, Processes and Operations.
  • 4-year technical degree or 10+ years of progressive experience with GSE and tooling.
  • Prior experience performing maintenance and or test cell work on Rolls-Royce and GE/CFM engines and related support equipment is considered a plus.
  • An additional plus will include prior experience performing maintenance and or test cell work on Aeroderivative type, and/or Pratt & Whitney turbine engines.
  • Strong project management, planning, organizational, leadership, oral and written communication skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
  • Have good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be able to read and interpret all OEM tooling blueprints and specifications.
  • Read, understand and translate into current configuration, all OEM requirements for Airframe OEM and Gas Turbine Engine OEM Technical and Maintenance publications, service bulletins, drawings, models and process sheets.
  • Ability to multi-task (simultaneous diverse customer activity), combined with a demonstrated ability to work as a team player.
  • Computer literate in MS-Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) and ERP systems (Epicor).
  • Articulate and effective communicator with the ability to influence others through the employment of sound judgment and good sense rather than the use of authority.
  • This role is based in Mason, OH.
