Job description

Make a difference during one of the most stressful times in a family's life. As a Surgery Family Liaison Volunteer, you provide comfort, support, and communication to loved ones waiting for updates during a patient's surgical procedure.

In this rewarding role, you will:

    • Welcome and assist families in the surgical waiting area.
    • Share approved updates from the surgical team to help keep families informed.
    • Serve as a compassionate link between patients' loved ones and hospital staff.
    • Help locate family members when physicians or care teams need to speak with them.
    • Offer reassurance, a listening ear, and a calming presence during difficult moments.
    • Ensure families feel supported, respected, and connected throughout the surgical experience.
