Job Title: General Shop Helper — Resell Store

Position Summary: Entry-level support role assisting with daily operations of a resale/consignment/thrift store. Keeps the sales floor and backroom organized, processes incoming donations/merchandise, supports pricing and merchandising, and provides basic customer-service and shipping/receiving assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, sort, and inspect donated and consigned items for condition, cleanliness, and authenticity; tag and prepare items for pricing.
  • Support pricing and labeling according to store guidelines and condition grading.
  • Clean, launder, repair (minor) or prep items for display; photograph and create basic online listings as directed.
  • Merchandise and organize sales floor and displays for visual appeal and inventory rotation; restock shelves and racks.
  • Operate POS system, assist with sales transactions, returns, and basic customer inquiries.
  • Assist with inventory counts, tracking, and backroom organization; move stock using carts or hand trucks.
  • Package and ship online orders; manage shipping supplies and documentation.
  • Dispose of unsellable items per store policy (recycling, donation to partners, or disposal).
  • Maintain cleanliness of store and backroom (sweeping, dusting, wiping surfaces).
  • Report damaged, stolen, or suspicious items; follow loss-prevention procedures.
  • Follow safety and store policies; assist with occasional store events, pickups, or donation drives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous retail, thrift/resale, warehouse, or customer-service experience preferred but not required.
