POSITION SUMMARY:

Develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards, supporting production performance, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Apply lean manufacturing methodologies to improve production processes.
  2. Develop and implement manufacturing systems and modern manufacturing practices including, but not limited to: Kanban inventory, 5S, Lean principles, TAKT time analysis, Six Sigma problem-solving techniques, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  3. Establish methods, equipment, and layouts for direct and indirect labor operations utilizing time studies.
  4. Plan and implement new sewing lines using optimal systems and controls to achieve production, quality, and AbilityOne workforce objectives.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects related to ergonomics, cost reduction, automation, facility layout, and process improvement.
  6. Perform product costing based on specifications, samples, and technical packages.
  7. Evaluate tasks and define required methods, tooling, and equipment to achieve operational efficiency.
  8. Analyze production systems and recommend improvements related to methods, line balancing, wage administration, and cost reduction.
  9. Evaluate and recommend ergonomic machine setups to support disabled workers and improve safety and productivity.
  10. Prepare and maintain detailed process layouts and related equipment documentation.
  11. Support and coordinate the manufacturing launch of new or revised products, including goal setting, training support, and performance evaluation.
  12. Analyze and resolve production issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  13. Develop and standardize procedures to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
  14. Create and maintain BOMs, fixture designs, work instructions, and related engineering documentation.
  15. Independently manage assigned projects and report progress to the Engineering Manager or designated supervisor.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: Entry-level trainee position.

Specific Skills: English proficiency required/ Spanish proficiency helpful. Industrial Engineering skills.

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: None required.

Other Skills and Abilities: Effective oral and written communication skills required. Ability to use general office equipment. Proficiency with Microsoft office, AutoCAD
