At PetVet Care Centers, our mission is to improve the lives of animals and people — providing exceptional and compassionate care at every stage — for all the moments that matter.

Because life is better with pets.

We deliver the Ultimate Care Experience — every pet, every client, every time. That starts with a Culture of Care that supports our team members as much as the pets and clients we serve.

With more than 420 locally led hospitals and over 11,000 team members nationwide, we offer:

  • Local autonomy with national support
  • Career mobility and development opportunities
  • A collaborative, inclusive environment where your wellbeing comes first

You care for pets. We care for you.

Position Overview

The Full Stack Developer is an entry-level position responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of internal enterprise applications. Working closely with senior developers and business users, this role will contribute to applications built primarily with Angular, .NET, and SQL Server by developing features, resolving bugs, testing changes, and supporting production systems.

This position is designed for a developer early in their career who is eager to learn and grow into greater technical ownership. During the first several months, the developer will learn the company's applications, development practices, and business processes while working under the guidance of experienced team members. As their knowledge and experience grow, they will take end-to-end responsibility for one or more enterprise applications, including ongoing development, support, troubleshooting, and collaboration with end users.

The ideal candidate is a motivated problem solver with a strong foundation in software development fundamentals, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn. This role requires someone who can work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams, accept feedback, and continuously improve their technical skills and understanding of the business.

This is an onsite position headquartered in Westport, CT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write, test, and maintain clean, simple code in Angular, .NET, and SQL Server under guidance from senior team members.
  • After a few months, the developer will own 1-2 enterprise applications end to end (front end and back end).
  • Fix bugs and resolve production issues.
  • Work with other departments and end users to continuously fix and improve existing applications.
  • Learn the existing codebase and development processes.
  • Participate in code reviews and team meetings.
  • Assist with feature development, documentation, gathering user feedback and testing.
  • Collaborate with other developers to understand requirements and improve skills.
  • Continuously learn new tools, and best practices.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of object-oriented programming and software development principles.
  • Familiarity with C# and/or the .NET platform through coursework, internships, personal projects, or professional experience.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end development concepts; experience with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, or CSS is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL; SQL Server experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of basic software development practices, including source control, testing, debugging, and code reviews.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

What We Offer
We care deeply about supporting our team members — professionally and personally. Benefits include:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid Parental Leave (birth, adoption, foster)
  • 401(k) with discretionary contribution
  • Team Member Pet Discounts
  • Emotional wellbeing support — including Calm app access and 24/7 EAP
  • CE stipends and career development resources
  • Grant Circle — a relief fund for team members facing personal hardship
  • Local hospital culture backed by national resources
Pay Range
$85,000—$95,000 USD

At PetVet Care Centers, we're committed to a Culture of Care — for pets, for the people who love them, and for the team members who make it all possible. With more than 400 hospitals across the U.S. and a team of over 11,000 dedicated professionals, including 1700+ veterinarians, we offer a unique blend of local leadership and national support that helps our hospitals thrive.
