Job Description

The Login Technician I is responsible for receiving and processing samples, reviewing Chain of Custody (COC) documentation, and accurately entering sample information into the laboratory database system (TALS). This role verifies that samples meet laboratory requirements, including proper sample volume, preservation, collection procedures, and holding time requirements. The Login Technician I plays an important role in ensuring accurate data, regulatory compliance, and the timely delivery of laboratory testing services. Attention to detail and accuracy are essential, as this role helps support quality laboratory results and excellent customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process incoming samples, including unpacking coolers, labeling containers, scanning shipping documentation, and completing sample login activities.
  • Accurately enter sample and Chain of Custody (COC) information into the laboratory database system with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Verify sample preservation, condition, and documentation in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Distribute samples to designated laboratory departments and storage locations, including walk-in refrigerators and other assigned areas.
  • Support sample disposal activities by maintaining disposal queues and completing associated documentation and tasks.
  • Prepare bottle kits, add preservatives to sample containers as required, and assist with shipping, receiving, and sample login operations.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, glassware, coolers, sinks, tables, and sampling equipment using approved cleaning agents and procedures in accordance with SOPs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies to ensure work is planned and performed in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
  • Answer phone calls, greet visitors, and provide professional assistance to clients.
  • Customer service responsibilities including greeting walk in clients, answering phone calls, helping clients with choosing methods and filling out COCs, taking credit card payments, and other client support as needed; 
  • Receiving samples, shipping samples to other laboratories;
  • Occasional courier duties if needed. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Must be familiar with MS Office programs such as Outlook, Explorer, Excel and Word.
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs routinely and safely and must be able to work standing for most of the day
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record. 
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
Additional Information

This is a full-time position Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm with possible overtime.

compensation: $19 - $22.20 /hr (DOE).
