Join a third-generation, family-owned commercial construction company with over 70 years of excellence and a strong commitment to community. We're seeking an adaptable, driven Project Engineer who thrives in a team-oriented, professional environment.
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing administrative and technical support to Project Managers, Superintendents and other field operations staff to achieve the effective, timely and profitable fulfillment of construction projects; maintaining positive relationships with customers, subcontractors and other parties and supporting opportunities for future business; communicating and collaborating with members of management and staff within the Group and throughout the company; supporting and personally adhering to the M-K core values, safety culture and related policies and practices, as well as all company operating and regulatory compliance-focused policies and practices.
Essential Duties:
  • Support and adheres to the M-K core values, safety culture and related safety policies and practices.
  • Assists Project Managers, Superintendents and other field operations staff in the effective fulfillment of construction projects by providing a wide variety of administrative and technical support duties.
  • Assists in fulfilling all requirements relating to maintaining accurate, complete and organized records and databases relating to projects; provides a wide variety of reports to appropriate parties, as requested and required; may provide assistance in creating presentations to various groups regarding records, trends, project information, etc. as requested.
  • Supports forecasting and reporting responsibilities relating to both construction projects that have been acquired but not yet started, as well as those that are in process.
  • Supports the use of/continued development of sustainable business processes and technology resources, in order to achieve the effective and efficient fulfillment of construction projects.
  • Supports opportunities to grow relationships with current customers, subcontractors and other related parties and assists in positioning the company for future sales; looks for opportunities for business development for other Groups within M-K.
  • Proactively, professionally and with a team-focused attitude collaborates and communicates with members of management and team members throughout the company to integrate activities and toward meeting the growth and profitability objectives for the company.
  • Supports and potentially begins to participate in industry and discipline construction management groups and events, in order to project a positive image of the company.
  • Complies with established company operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the adherence to outside regulatory requirements.
  • Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
  • Responds to inquiries or requests relating to his/her particular area within given time frames and within established policy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Position Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • This is an entry level position with no experience required; however, experience in a field related to commercial construction is helpful.
