Step into Your New Role
Kleinfelder is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer who will support the Geotechnical Services team on complex projects related to earthquake and seismic engineering to the latest trenchless technology methods
This position is available in our Exton, PA office and will require approximately 50% overnight travel to project sites.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide support in geotechnical field investigations, encompassing the logging of borings and test pits with detailed soil and rock classification.
  • Perform engineering analysis under the guidance of a professional engineer.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports.
  • Collaborate with design teams to incorporate geotechnical aspects into site designs.
  • Assist with geotechnical laboratory testing.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (geotechnical emphasis preferred).
  • Engineer-in-Training Certificate.
  • 0-3 years of experience in the following areas:
    • Geotechnical laboratory testing.
    • Site grading.
    • Stormwater management.
    • Slope stability analysis.
    • Soil and rock classification.
    • Soil improvement techniques.
    • Erosion and sediment control.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • A thirst to learn and achieve continuous improvement in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate experience with, or the ability to readily learn earthwork and foundation construction observation.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Willingness to travel overnight.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in geotechnical engineering.
  • Experience with gINT, Lpile, SlopeW and CAD software.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure, drilling operations, and heavy civil project design and construction.
