Job description

Oxford Casino Hotel, located in Oxford, Maine, is indeed part of Churchill Downs Incorporated and has seen significant growth since it opened in 2012. The casino boasts a variety of gaming options for our visitors, including 23 table games and over 900 of the latest and most popular slot machines. The property also features 2 restaurants, the Ox Pub, and the Oxford Express, and a 107-room hotel which includes 6 well-appointed suites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs repairs, overhauls, and preventative maintenance, including cleaning, on all slot machines on property.
2. Performs the initial set-up and check-out of new slot machines.
3. Responsible for the break-down, relocation, and set-up of relocated slot machines and stands.
4. Responds to slot machines in a timely manner to resolve guest complaints regarding technical problems with slot machines.
5. Verifies that all slot games communicate accurately with internal systems for accounting purposes; research and resolves issues that arise with same.
6. Notifies Slot Shift Manager of pertinent issues, as needed.
7. Maintains slot floor security by notifying department management of any suspicious activity.
8. Maintains working knowledge of all local jurisdictional gaming laws (federal, state, and local) and attendant regulations as well as company internal controls.
9. Participates in slot department special projects in a team environment by interpreting gaming documents, gathering materials necessary to complete the project, including RAM clears, key chipping, machine moves, conversions, and upgrades.
10. Maintains a working knowledge of all games in order to perform repairs and/or preventative maintenance.
11. Knowledge of player tracking system (i.e. meters and progressives) a plus but not required/willing to train.
12. Knowledge of Compliance Advisory and the mandatory firmware notifications that are given
13. Delivers Excellent Customer Service
14. Approves slot payouts within limits per submitted System of Internal Controls.
15. Complies with regulatory agencies.
16. Performs minor machine repairs on all slot machines on property.
17. Continuously walks their assigned areas looking for guests who need service
18. Provide courteous and prompt change, jackpot, and minor machine repair service.
19. Responds to slot machines in a timely manner to resolve guest problems with slot machines.
20. Notifies Slot Shift Supervisor of any issues, as needed.
21. Maintains slot floor security by notifying Slot Shift Supervisor of any suspicious activity.
22. Maintains working knowledge of all local jurisdictional gaming laws (federal, state, and local) and regulations as well as company internal controls.
23. Participates in slot department special projects in a team environment upon request
24. Observes slot play for illegal machine tampering/abuse.
25. Maintains a working knowledge of all games in order to perform minor machine repairs and/or explain game play to guests.
26. Delivers Excellent Customer Service
27. Keep casino floor clean of cups, and push in chairs
• Previous Slot Tech or electronic related experience preferred but not needed
• Team Player with the capability to learn both on their own and with supervision i.e.: Study Machine Manuals, Internal Controls, and Par Sheets.
• Heavy lifting required; Ability to pick up to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Electronics experience and/or degree preferred but not needed.
• Is able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to obtain a Gaming license through the state of Maine
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Previous experience in slot department preferred, but willing to train if all other qualifications are met
• Previous cash handling experience preferred
• Must possess basic math skill to make change with coin and currency
• Walk the casino floor up to 10 hours
• Previous customer experience preferred
• Create an entertainment environment for all guests.
• Upbeat personality for all interactions with guests and fellow team members
• Must know and understand the Title 31 procedures
• Ability to communicate special promotions to our guest.
• Exercise appropriate discretion in identifying situations that require management attention.
• Ability to handle & secure keys within departmental guidelines
• Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
• High School diploma or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a Gaming license through the state of Maine
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Previous experience in slot department preferred, but willing to train if all other qualifications are met.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Heavy lifting sometimes required; Ability to pick up to 50 lbs. At other times, the work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing and walking and climbing; recurring bending, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting, or similar activities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Should have fine motor skills. The work environment is one with possible exposure to prolonged loud noise.

$7.55-19.00 + tips
