Job description

About Nooks.ai:
Nooks is an applied AI lab building the Agent Workspace for GTM. We design AI agents that operate across the full sales action set, from account strategy to prospect research and outreach. Building 0→1 has never been easier, but selling at the speed of the market remains the last frontier for AI. Our mission is to 10x every seller by automating the busywork so they can focus on what humans do best: closing deals.
Today, over 1,500 customers run on Nooks, including Notion, HubSpot, Cursor, and Rippling. We've raised $70M+ from top VCs like Kleiner Perkins, which made its first sales-tech investment in over a decade with us. Since then, we've tripled ARR each year for 3 years running and grown a high-caliber team turning the art of sales into a scalable science.
About the Role
Sales software was built for humans. But we believe most sales work will be done by agents within the next two years. We're building out multiple vertical products (AI Dialer, AI Prospecting, AI Sequencing, Agent Studio) to get there. Reps use Nooks as a "copilot" and spend 4+ hours a day across these different product lines. We're hiring a staff engineer to help set a unified technical direction for the entire team.
What you'll do
  • Build AI features that drive revenue, end to end. Define the success metric, ship across React/TypeScript and Node.js/Python, and iterate until it moves. 1,100+ customers depend on this product daily.
  • Work directly with customers. Our biggest accounts have shared Slack channels with our engineers; you'll be on calls with users one day and shipping fixes back to them the next.
  • Set technical direction across the team. How should agent memory work per rep? What's the right primitive for a long-running outbound strategy? Make the architectural calls other engineers build against.
  • Raise the bar across the org. Mentor senior engineers, run the hardest design reviews, and help us hire more people like you.
You might be a strong fit if:
  • 8+ years of engineering experience, including time as a tech lead of a meaningful product area, a founder, or a domain expert other engineers turn to.
  • Production experience with AI features. For example, you've debugged misbehaving agents and built the evals to keep issues from recurring.
  • Strong opinions, held loosely, about what the product surface of human-agent collaboration should look like.
  • Not afraid to hop on a call with a customer to validate a feature you just built.
  • You make the rest of the company faster.
  • Based in San Francisco, excited to be in-office 3+ days per week.
At Nooks You'll Enjoy
  • A world-class team. Around 40 engineers, mostly former founders or founding engineers and veteran builders from places like Applied Intuition, Scale, Airtable, Citadel, and Jane Street. Thirteen Olympiad medals across the team.
  • A product still being figured out. We don't fully know what sales engagement looks like when agents do most of the work. The people who join now help decide.
  • Top-of-market compensation.
