Job Description Summary
Performs as a skilled tradesman in the fabrication and installation of the campus sign systems. On occasion, may provide skilled master brush, roll and spray painting of interior and exterior building walls and fixtures, as well as finishing drywall, as necessary. Contributes to team effort and harmonious working relationships with others in the Department and throughout MUSC. Maintains continuity between individual job assignments and work of others. Performs work in most efficient and cost effective methods. Performs other related and non-related duties as required.

Job Description
20% - Provides skilled master brush, roll and spray painting of interior and exterior building walls and fixtures, as well as drywall, as these duties relate to signage removals and installations. Performs work in a safe manner. Conserves supplies and works efficiently as possible.
20% - Troubleshoots sign problems and makes recommendations to supervisor on solutions. Alerts supervisor on inventory issues and maintains a clean and organized shop area.
25% - Maximizes the use of the AiM work order system software as a tool to effectively and efficiently manage work for both on the desktop and hand-held device(s). Makes use of the daily assignments and stopwatch features.
35% - Performs repairs, updates, fabrications, removals and installations, with expertise, of the campus-wide sign systems. Skillfully uses the various sign equipment (engravers, stencil cutters, vinyl cutter plotters, dolly and cart, as well as various mounting tools).
Additional Job Description
Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and three years trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment. Some positions require a commercial driver's license. Some positions require EPA-approved freon recovery certification. Physical Requirements: (Note: The following descriptions are applicable to this section: Continuous - 6-8 hours per shift; Frequent - 2-6 hours per shift; Infrequent - 0-2 hours per shift) Ability to perform job functions in an upright position. (Continuous) Ability to qualify physically for respirator use. (Continuous) Additional New Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license. Ability to obtain and maintain EPA Approved Freon recovery certification.
