Pinnacle is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our Operations Team. The right candidate will be a strong communicator, a dependable team player, and someone who takes initiative without needing constant direction. This position is designed to support the Project Manager and Superintendent by handling the administrative, coordination, and documentation tasks that keep projects moving.
A successful Project Engineer will help ensure project information is accurate, deadlines are tracked, follow-ups are completed, and the team is working from the most current drawings, specifications, submittals, and project updates. In short, this role helps keep the project machine running smoothly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Engineer will support Pinnacle's Project Managers and Superintendents by helping keep projects organized, documented, and moving forward. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist with project setup and document control, including drawings, specifications, submittal registers, RFIs, meeting minutes, correspondence, and closeout documentation.
  • Maintain accurate project information in Procore and other project management systems, including updates from client-hosted platforms such as NASA SharePoint.
  • Support the submittal and RFI process by tracking required items, coordinating submissions, following up on overdue responses, and keeping logs current.
  • Help track project deliverables, deadlines, action items, procurement needs, material lead times, and subcontractor/vendor follow-up items.
  • Assist with project administration, including subcontractor paperwork, badging/security clearance documentation, work plans, compliance documents, pay application support, and project closeout.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop a working understanding of project scope, quality requirements, and key coordination needs.
  • Support communication between the office, field, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to help ensure the project team is working from accurate and current information.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take meeting notes, distribute minutes, and track action items through completion.
  • Identify missing information, overdue items, or potential coordination concerns early and communicate them to the Project Manager or Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Construction internship, co-op, field, trade, or administrative project experience preferred.
  • Prior exposure to federal, public, commercial, institutional, or complex construction projects is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or other construction management software is preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow up consistently and manage multiple open items at one time.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and general project documentation tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to complete tasks accurately and on time.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to ask questions when clarification is needed.
  • Professional attitude and ability to represent Pinnacle positively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and team members.
  • Interest in building a long-term career in construction operations, project management, or field leadership.
