Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Semiconductor Device Engineer to join the corporate Device Modeling and Technology Characterization Group within Microchip. This entry-level position is ideal for recent college graduates with a strong academic background in electrical engineering or a related technical field. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, simulation, and characterization of semiconductor devices.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and development of semiconductor devices such as transistors, diodes, power devices, passive devices
  • Perform electrical characterization of devices, analyze test data, and report findings
  • Conduct process & device simulations using TCAD tools to optimize device performance
  • Perform device and test structure layouts for establishing design rules, device validation, optimization, and modeling
  • Support process integration teams in troubleshooting yield or device issues

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • BS, MS, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • 0-3 years of professional experience
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor and device physics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with device simulation tools (e.g., TCAD, SPICE) and measurement tools is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
