Job description

Metro Embroidery is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Screen Printer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and printing designs on various fabrics and materials using screen printing techniques. This role requires precision, creativity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate manual and automatic screen printing machines for a variety of fabric types and materials.
  • Prepare and align screens, mix inks, and maintain proper color consistency for designs.
  • Inspect designs for quality and consistency during and after the printing process.
  • Follow production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of screen printing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work closely with the design and production teams to ensure designs meet client specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with equipment or print quality.
  • Ensure all safety guidelines are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of production outputs, including work completed and materials used.

Qualifications:

  • Willing to train the right person
  • Proven experience in screen printing, preferably in a commercial or high-volume setting.
  • Ability to work with various printing presses and screen printing tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently produce high-quality prints.
  • Familiarity with color mixing, materials, and printing techniques.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform basic maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications or training in screen printing is a plus).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with automatic screen printing presses.
  • Knowledge of color theory and Pantone matching system.
  • Ability to print on a variety of materials including cotton, polyester, and blends.
  • Experience in the textile industry is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle materials and equipment.
  • Manual dexterity for precise printing work.
