This entry level scientific role plays a critical role in ensuring specimen integrity, maintaining accurate documentation, supporting quality initiatives, and helping the laboratory operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform specimen accessioning, processing, sample racking, and laboratory support functions.
- Utilize laboratory automation systems and equipment to support workflow efficiency.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and perform routine maintenance activities.
- Handle, process, and dispose of specimens according to laboratory procedures and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation using Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Complete required laboratory documentation accurately and on time.
- Support laboratory inspections, audits, SOP development, and compliance initiatives.
- Follow all laboratory safety regulations and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement and process improvement initiatives.
- Support departmental goals aligned with organizational objectives.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented laboratory environment.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Biology, microbiology, biochemistry or related science preferred
- Familiar with basic laboratory skills
- Ability to follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
