This position will be working onsite from Chicago.

As a Strategic Account Manager for the largest sales team in the cruise industry, this is not your average sales manager role. Representing Royal Caribbean in the field, you will be the voice, the knowledge powerhouse and the local face of this award-winning brand. As a Strategic Account Manager, you will develop and execute local co-op marketing and promotional programs with the support of a full trade marketing team at headquarters. Help to grow your territory's revenue and brand presence by diversifying marketing opportunities across various media outlets, creating solid partnerships, and instilling stand-out activations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Add your secret sauce to your territory by building and maintaining relationships with local trade partners.
  • Collaborate with your Regional Sales Director to break through the clutter and develop out-of-the-box activations within your territory.
  • Develop solid business plans and marketing programs with assigned trade partners. Whether large or small, Royal Caribbean calls on all travel agents.
  • Knowledge is power! From product and itinerary information to promotional and overall brand intelligence, your success depends on staying relevant and in-the-know.
  • Use data to empower you! Leverage sales analytics tools to confidently present monthly and quarterly business reviews with your accounts. Push the envelope to drive new, game-changing strategies. Arm key accounts with booking trends and business priorities to inspire growth and profitability.
  • Teamwork makes the dream work.
  • A mantra amongst the best sales force in the industry. Regularly collaborate with peers to learn, build upon and share ideas.
  • Sales Calls: we are the best and largest sales team in the industry for a reason. Visiting accounts and building relationships is key. Documenting sales calls in the salesforce platform is a requirement to succeed.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred. But if you've got some nautical miles of experience under your belt without one, that works too.
  • A love for travel.
  • This goes without saying. We're a travel brand, so let your passion for discovery and vacation memory making shine. Plus you'll be traveling as part of the job, on land to your agents and occasionally at sea with your team members!
  • You'll have priority boarding to the interview if you've got 1-3 years of sales experience.
  • Ideal Persona: Outgoing, self-motivated, self-disciplined, hungry for a challenge, go-getter attitude and ready for the best job out there!
  • Extraordinary verbal and written communication skills is in your DNA.
  • Charismatic presentation skills and Impeccable organization skills are a deal breaker if you don't have them.
  • Passion for sales, learning and helping others succeed, one account at a time.
  • You don't need to be the next tech guru, but at the minimum be well versed with Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce, Webex and holding conference calls.
  • Get car sick? This gig probably isn't for you. Must be able to hit the road, travel and visit accounts within your territory - near or far. Living within your territory is essential.

Salary Range (Chicago, IL, D.C.) $75,000 - $80,000 annually plus sales incentive, based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This range reflects the minimum and maximum salary the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position in good faith at the time of posting, in compliance with Illinois law.
