Job description

IN-HOME SALES CLOSER – MOLD MITIGATION

$50,000 BASE + UNCAPPED COMMISSION + COMPANY VEHICLE

SPOTLESS – Lexington / Nicholasville, Kentucky

If you are a professional in-home salesperson who knows how to earn a homeowner’s trust, identify a problem, present a solution and close the sale, we want to talk to you.

SPOTLESS is an established water damage, mold and mycotoxin mitigation company serving Central Kentucky. We are looking for an experienced Sales Consultant / In-Home Sales Closer to take qualified customer opportunities and turn them into sold mitigation projects.

This is NOT a cold-calling position.

This is NOT door-to-door prospecting.

This is NOT an entry-level sales position.

We are looking for a polished, professional closer who can represent a high-end service company in customers’ homes and businesses.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You will meet with homeowners and property owners who have contacted SPOTLESS because they have a mold, moisture, water-damage or indoor environmental concern.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Meeting with customers in their homes and properties
• Professionally evaluating their needs with support from our technical team
• Explaining mold and mitigation issues in clear, understandable language
• Presenting SPOTLESS’s recommended scope of work and solutions
• Explaining pricing, payment and available financing options
• Answering questions and overcoming objections professionally
• Asking for the business and closing the sale
• Following up consistently and professionally on unsold opportunities
• Maintaining accurate customer notes and follow-up activity in our CRM
• Working closely with our mitigation and production teams after the sale

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our ideal candidate already has successful experience selling:

Mold Remediation | Water Damage Restoration | HVAC | Roofing | Waterproofing | Foundation Repair | Indoor Air Quality | Windows | Remodeling | Home Improvement | Pest Control | Other In-Home Services

Mold mitigation or restoration sales experience is strongly preferred.

At a minimum, candidates should have successful experience selling higher-ticket services in a customer’s home.

We are especially interested in candidates who understand:

• Consultative and needs-based selling
• Higher-ticket residential services
• One-call-close sales
• Financing and payment options
• Building trust quickly with homeowners
• Explaining technical information without overwhelming the customer
• Handling objections professionally
• Asking for the sale confidently without using dishonest or high-pressure tactics

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Because this is a highly visible, customer-facing position representing a premium service company, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be able to successfully complete a criminal background check
• Be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening
• Possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Be comfortable driving a company-provided vehicle throughout our service area
• Be physically able and willing to enter attics, crawlspaces, basements and other confined areas as needed
• Be comfortable working around mold, water-damaged structures and restoration environments with the appropriate supplied PPE
• Be articulate, confident and professional in both appearance and communication
• Be comfortable communicating with homeowners, business owners, property managers and other professionals
• Be dependable, organized and capable of managing appointments and follow-up without constant supervision
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for representing a high-end service company

PROFESSIONAL PRESENTATION MATTERS

Our customers are trusting us with their homes, their property and often a serious indoor environmental concern.

We expect our sales professionals to represent SPOTLESS accordingly.

You should be someone who can walk into a high-end home, communicate comfortably with the homeowner, explain a complicated problem in understandable terms and leave the customer feeling confident they are dealing with a true professional.

THIS POSITION IS PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU IF:

• You are uncomfortable asking for the sale
• You need someone constantly reminding you to follow up
• Your sales experience consists primarily of retail or counter sales
• You believe sending an estimate and waiting for the customer to call back is a sales strategy
• You are uncomfortable discussing projects worth thousands or tens of thousands of dollars
• You are uncomfortable entering attics or crawlspaces
• You are not comfortable being measured by your sales performance and closing results

THIS POSITION MAY BE PERFECT FOR YOU IF:

You have sold HVAC systems, roofs, waterproofing, windows, foundation repair, remodeling, restoration or another major home service and have regularly thought:

“Give me qualified people to sit down with and I’ll close them.”

That is exactly what we are looking for.

COMPENSATION

$50,000 Annual Base Salary

PLUS UNCAPPED COMMISSION

This position is designed for a professional salesperson who wants the stability of a strong base salary with significant additional earning potential based on performance.

There is no cap on commissions.

WHAT SPOTLESS PROVIDES

• $50,000 annual base salary
• Uncapped commission
• Company-provided vehicle
• Company-provided computer
• Company-provided phone
• Company-generated sales opportunities
• No cold calling
• Established company and brand
• Professional mitigation and production team
• Paid training on our mold and mycotoxin mitigation processes
• CRM and sales tools
• Paid time off
• Opportunity for advancement as the company grows

You will have the tools and support needed to focus on what you do best:

Meet customers. Build trust. Present solutions. Close business.

WHAT MATTERS MOST

We do not need someone who can simply talk.

We need someone who can listen, understand the customer’s real concern, communicate value, build trust and close business.

Technical mold knowledge can be taught to the right person.

Professional sales ability, work ethic, communication skills and the ability to close are what we are looking for.

If you are currently producing in the restoration or in-home service industry and believe your sales ability is worth a six-figure income, we want to hear from you.

WHEN YOU APPLY, PLEASE ANSWER:

  1. What type of in-home services have you sold?
  2. What was the typical dollar amount of the projects you sold?
  3. Approximately what percentage of your appointments did you close?
  4. What was your best year in sales?
  5. Do you have experience in mold remediation, water restoration or another restoration-related industry?
  6. Why are you interested in joining SPOTLESS?
