Job Summary

Wagner Roofing Company is seeking a reliable and hardworking Roofing Laborer to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with little to no prior roofing experience who are eager to learn and grow in the roofing industry. The Roofing Laborer will assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of various roofing systems, including residential, commercial, and industrial roofs. All work must meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist with Roofing Installation:
    • Help set up roofing projects by gathering and organizing materials.
    • Assist in the installation of various types of roofing materials including shingles, tiles, and metal.
    • Prepare and clean roof surfaces by removing old roofing materials and debris.
    • Lay out roofing materials and ensure proper alignment and installation.
  • Roof Repair and Maintenance:
    • Assist with the repair of damaged roofs by replacing shingles, tiles, or other roofing materials.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prolong the life of roofing systems.
    • Inspect roofs for damage and report findings to the site foreman.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
    • Assist in setup and tear down of safety equipment as instructed.
    • Complete required safety training such as fall protection or OSHA.
    • Report any safety concerns to your supervisor promptly.
  • General Labor:
    • Carry tools and materials to and from the work site.
    • Clean up job sites and dispose of material properly.
    • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Maintain and care for roofing tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions to your supervisor promptly.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively and effectively with other team members, taking direction from the site leads (Supervisors and foremen).
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure project goals are met.

Preferred Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience in roofing or construction
  • Sheet Metal, slate and/or tile experience.
  • Safety Trainings: First Aid/CPR, OSHA10 and Fall Protection

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Ability and comfort working at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift and handle at least 50lbs
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.
