As a Registered Nurse with The Menta Education Group, you will oversee the health and well-being of students, act as a resource for health education and maintain student records and data for compliance purposes.
Must have IL R.N. License
Staff Hours 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Monday-Friday, following a school calendar
Direct Hire with our school: Return School Year after School Year
No Nights, No Weekends, No Federal Holidays
Responsibilities

• Provide first aid care and medically prescribed services.
• Obtain and review consents for medication administration in school.
• Document each instance for medication administration.
• Train designated staff on medication administration and documentation of medication administration
• Maintain security of school health supplies.
• Instruct students in health education.
• Correspond with parents and medical providers on the health needs of students.
• Record immunizations, health findings, and other relevant health data.
• Maintain accurate related service logs updated weekly.
• Coordinate and communicate with administrative staff, teachers, and other related service staff as needed or IEP directed.
• Develop Individual Health Care plans for students with allergies.

Qualifications

• Current/Active IL Registered Nurse License
• Considerable knowledge of medical and mental health disorders and subsequent treatment.
• Considerable knowledge of child growth and development.
• Working knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies.
• Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services.
• Some knowledge of the school organization and the community served.
• Capacity to coordinate and facilitate services between the school, local health agency, and other community resources.

Educational services are intended to meet both the developmental and individual learning needs of each student. Classrooms are designed to be active learning environments where young people have the opportunity to experience educational and behavioral success on a daily basis.
For students requiring intensive transitional services, a continuum of support is established. Menta Academy Dekalb 912 is a collaboration with Dekalb Community School District 428 and like other Menta programs utilizes a unique curricular framework that relies on the Expanded Menta Method and Trauma Informed Practices as the foundational principles for the teaching, counseling and mentoring work done by our highly trained staff. Every aspect of the framework supports students with attainment of graduate competencies.
Our curriculum is personalized to meet the needs of each student, with technology and skilled teachers creating a dynamic learning environment. At Menta's Academy Dekalb, our unique learning spaces combine traditional teaching with cutting-edge technology and innovation.
