Registered Nurse - Hospice

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Hospice

Profession: Registered Nurse

Specialty: Hospice

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Monday to Friday, 8 hours

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of client experience required for first-time travelers

License: RN licensed in the state of Maine

Certifications: BLS

Must-Have: Valid driver's license and own vehicle for patient visits

Description: Full-time position with a weekend rotation. Urgent start needed. Interviews conducted by the manager. The office census averages 150 patients. Case managers typically handle 25 to 30 patients. Patient types include those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, wound care, chronic and acute CHF and COPD, cardiac surgeries, and genitourinary issues. Responsibilities include IV antibiotic teaching, central line care, medication pre-fills, and lab draws. On-call requirements include overnight duty from 5 PM to 8 AM, rotating every 3 to 4 weeks. Weekend rotations are typically required once a month, depending on staffing needs. Holiday coverage may be required if the assignment coincides with major holidays. Support is available through scheduling and clinical management teams. Nursing skill set must cover the common diagnoses listed above with a focus on hospice experience. Dress code is business casual or scrubs with no specific color requirements.
