American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Neurosurgery and ENT unit position requiring a NC or compact RN license and a minimum of one year of nursing experience.

Details
  • 18-bed acute care unit specializing in post-operative Neurosurgery and ENT patients
  • Neurosurgery cases include brain and spinal surgeries, traumas, cancer, stroke, and intracranial bleeds
  • ENT cases include head and neck malignancies, cancer, infection, and surgeries involving the head, mouth, tongue, jaw, thyroid, and oropharynx
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Every other holiday (EOH) required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Charge nurse responsibilities required as needed (training provided)
Requirements
  • Active RN license in North Carolina (NC license or compact RN license currently in hand)
  • Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC
  • Current NIHSS certification
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
  • Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing school (BSN or MSN preferred)
  • Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans
  • Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required
  • Assess and address discharge planning needs for patients and families
  • BSN or MSN is preferred but not required
