A Pediatric Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (Pediatric OR RN) provides specialized nursing care to pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures. The Pediatric OR RN works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other surgical team members to ensure safe, effective, and age-appropriate care for children. They are responsible for preparing patients for surgery, providing intraoperative care, and assisting in recovery, with a focus on minimizing anxiety and ensuring a safe surgical experience for young patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technicians, to provide safe and effective intraoperative care.
  • Prepare pediatric patients for surgery, including assessments, administering preoperative medications, and providing patient/family education on the surgical process.
  • Monitor pediatric patients during surgery, ensuring vital signs, anesthesia, and surgical equipment are properly managed.
  • Assist in maintaining a sterile surgical environment, ensuring all protocols are followed to prevent infections.
  • Administer medications, fluids, and other treatments as required during surgery.

Qualifications:
