We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Facilities Electrician to join our team of professionals. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. You’ll be a member of our highly respected team of professionals with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Assists in performing and interpreting power calculations, power factor, insulation tests and positive relay tests as required.
  • Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs all power generation and distribution equipment.
  • Studies and understands electrical schematics.
  • Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning systems and components.
  • Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Advises management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Ensures that work is performed in accordance with relevant codes.
    Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
SKILLS:
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow a plan layout to install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on the job specifications and codes.
  • Ability to make sketches or blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes and in accordance with the plan.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction and repair of buildings and other structures.
  • Knowledge of math, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and other applications.
  • Knowledge base relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, and property, including public safety.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and sketches.
  • Ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing.
EDUCATION amp; EXPERIENCE:
  • Graduation from high school, or equivalent.
  • Must maintain current Electrician’s license to meet governmental regulations.
  • Progressively more responsible work experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
